Please note that this event has now finished.

Following last year's success, Frome's second Open Homes event is taking place in October 2015.

20 homes across the town will be opening their doors to showcase a range of measures people have taken throughout Frome, from big investments like solid wall insulation and biomass boilers, to small cheap changes that make a big difference, like draught-proofing. It's not just about energy either, there are many other measures and lifestyle changes that can help us move from a three planet lifestyle towards one planet living. Each homeowner will be sharing information about the products, suppliers and installers they have used and would recommend. Hopefully the day will have you exclaiming: "OH I didn't realise I could do that in my home!"

As our supporter Kevin McCloud says: "There's no better way of leading than by example, no better way of demonstrating than show and tell. So visit Frome's Open Homes to be inspired as to how you can help fight climate change".

This event has been organised by Frome Renewable Energy Co-op (FRECo), a not for profit organisation that supports carbon reduction projects and plans to install renewable energy throughout Frome. We have lots more exciting projects ahead so do join our mailing list at

We would also like to thank our funder Green Open Homes, and our sponsor Solarsense. Solarsense are the South-West's leading Solar PV installer and are proud to be considered one of the UK's leading renewable energy experts. From their Carbon-Neutral Technology Park based just outside of Bristol, they provide a complete design and installation service for a wide range of renewable technologies.
